Knack Sales Memo

Please use and submit this Knack Sales Memo or Deal Closer Memo form after you have approved your CDA. The Knack Sales Memo & Deal Closer Memo is the finance receipt used to disburse your commission upon closing. It is important to provide specific details to your commission splits as part of the Knack Sales Memo to help process your files efficiently, accurately and to reduce the number of requests for additional information throughout the closing process.

Compass Outgoing Referral Agreement & Incoming Referrals
How do I submit referrals?
Referred client received (you owe another agent a payment for sending a client to you)
If a client has been referred to you, you can indicate that by checking “Referred to me” when creating a new folder, or from the “details” section of the Overview tab within the client folder.
A referral agreement will now be required in the Compliance tab.
Referred client out (you are expecting a payment for referring a client to another agent)
If you are referring a client to another agent, create a new referral client folder in the “Referred Out” pipeline tab.
You can select whether this is an internal (Compass to Compass) or external (another brokerage) referral and track all referral details, such as commission or listing/offer information in the referral folder.
As you’re getting updates from the referred agent, you can add listing or offer information in the folder and add the referral agreement in the Compliance tab. Once the referral agreement is approved, complete the form in the Commissions tab and submit to finance. You’ll see the Paid tag on the folder once you get paid on the deal.
Can I add more than one referral per deal?
Not yet! For now, add in one referral. If there are any additional people on the referral, include the details in the ‘Notes to Finance’ or ‘Notes to Team Lead’ section.
Can I share a referral folder with another agent on my team?
Yes, you can share the referral folder with another team member and they will be able to see and edit the folder contents.
Can I share a referral folder with the agent I am referring the client to?
No, not yet, but we are working to make folder updates automatic when between two Compass agents.
Will my referral automatically update as the transaction progresses?
Not yet, but we are working to add automatic updates to this feature so that you are aware of where a referral transaction is in the process and when you can expect to receive payment.
When can I add my documents for a Referred Out client folder?
You can create a ‘Referral’ client folder as soon as you have your referral agreement! Note that you will not be able to add the document to the Compliance tab until you have the Offer details.
If you want to add the document as soon as it is received, add it to the Files tab by connecting a Google Drive or Dropbox account.
Can I add referrals from Referral Directors or Sales Managers?
Not yet, but we are working to add the ability to manage and track referrals from Referral Directors.
